Project Manager Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Schedule, Budget & Risk Management
- Quality, Testing & Commissioning Support
- Document Control & Reporting
Required Deliverables
- Project Management Plan with communication plan, schedule management plan, quality assurance plan, and risk management plan
- Weekly summaries and meeting documentation, including agendas, minutes, action items, and Government follow-up items
- Project Tracking Report updates completed bi-weekly and at least 24 hours before recurring status meetings
- Schedule reviews submitted within required timeframes and identifying relationships, revisions, changes, missing activities, or illogical sequencing
- Cost estimate reports, cost proposal reviews, and budget tracking support submitted within required contract or COR-directed timeframes
- Issue resolution records, risk documentation, claims/dispute support, and corrective-action recommendations
- EHRM project package support documentation when requested by the COR
- Daily inspection logs documenting project activities and events affecting construction
- Monthly project-hours breakdown provided to the COR
Qualifications
- Required Experience and Technical Competencies
- Standards, Credentials, and Training
Required Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Experience supporting federal, healthcare, infrastructure, or facility improvement projects
- Working knowledge of construction administration, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, change management, and risk management
- Ability to facilitate meetings, document decisions, track action items, and coordinate across project stakeholders
- Ability to assess scope, schedule, cost, and level-of-effort impacts and recommend corrective actions
- Ability to prepare clear reports, plans, schedules, cost summaries, and written recommendations
Standards, Credentials, and Training:
- Familiarity with VA project delivery, VA Technical Information Library standards, healthcare coordination, OSHA requirements, and project controls practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain required VA access credentials, including PIV/visitor badge requirements, favorable NACI background check, and required VA training
- Complete OSHA 30-hour safety training, VA Cyber Security Awareness, and VA Privacy Awareness training within required timeframes
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field preferred
- VA, federal healthcare, EHRM infrastructure, or occupied-facility construction experience preferred
Work Conditions
- Full-time onsite support at Brooklyn Campus Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209
- Estimated maximum 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, or after-hours support as project conditions require; federal holidays are not normal workdays unless authorized
- Contractor personnel shall follow VA access procedures, including use of PIV card or visitor badge while onsite
- Base year plus one option year anticipated, aligned to the project period of performance
- Contractor provides required communication equipment, computer resources, compatible scheduling software, and basic software needed to perform assigned duties
