Construction Manager
About the Role
Tri Pointe Homes Raleigh is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Construction Manager to join our team. In this role, you will plan and manage the homebuilding construction process for a designated community, ensuring quality control, adherence to scopes of work, and safety protocols. You will engage with trade partners, consultants, internal teams, and homeowners to deliver high-quality homes with exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage trade partners and consultants, including initiating and approving changes and purchase orders, inspecting work, and approving payments for acceptable work and materials.
- Oversee contract adherence and provide input on trade partner selection and retention.
- Ensure onsite safety for employees and trade partners; evaluate safety violations and take appropriate action.
- Schedule construction projects, including trade partners, material deliveries, and inspections, to meet benchmarks and timetables.
- Plan and coordinate construction starts, modifying schedules as needed to respond to field conditions and achieve company goals.
- Manage the home-building process from permitting to home delivery (and first-year warranty if required).
- Implement the Company’s job site compliance programs and monitor trade partner adherence to scopes of work, building codes, quality standards, environmental laws, SWPPP, and health and safety programs.
- Act as the Company’s primary representative on the job site with trade partners, customers, and government inspectors.
- Oversee daily logistics, including sequencing work, staging material deliveries, and ensuring prior work meets company standards before subsequent work begins.
- Communicate with sales, purchasing, homeowners, consultants, trades, building officials, and customer care to manage and execute the homebuilding process.
- Engage with homeowners during required orientations/walks to achieve high customer satisfaction.
- May manage Assistant Construction Managers, providing training and feedback to support their growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant construction experience or education.
- Strong knowledge of home construction.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement adjustments to architectural and structural blueprints, off-site improvement plans, and soil reports.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and all scopes of work.
- Expertise in Hyphen BuildPro.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
