About the Role

We are looking for experienced residential Construction Managers to join our team for upcoming projects in Northern California. This is a full-time, benefited role under limited supervision. The Construction Manager manages building-related activities and resources to ensure production projections are accurate and houses are completed on schedule and to the Company’s quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of assigned projects to ensure successful outcomes, including timeliness, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Oversee building-related activities and resources, including Assistant Construction Managers and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and manage Assistant Construction Managers; coordinate schedules with other Construction Managers for coverage.
  • Schedule and direct subcontractors, monitor progress, and resolve issues; approve subcontractor invoices.
  • Unlock houses for subcontractors and ensure they have the latest options and diagrams.
  • Obtain permits, plots, and plans for inspections; walk with inspectors and coordinate corrections with subcontractors.
  • Interpret specifications, refine schedules to minimize delays (e.g., weather, material shortages), and inspect work in progress.
  • Ensure job site safety: conduct regular safety trainings, enforce safety requirements, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department regarding subcontractor budgets.
  • Meet with internal departments to resolve issues involving homeowners, inspectors, and government entities.
  • Assist in materials ordering and scheduling subcontractors from excavation to completion.
  • Review schedules to minimize delays caused by weather, vandalism, material, or manpower shortages.
  • Ensure timely project completion and conduct final quality inspections and walk-throughs with homeowners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED plus a minimum of four (4) years of direct experience in the homebuilding industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  • Experience analyzing and understanding local and national building codes.
  • Experience with project management and builder software (e.g., Buildpro, Procore, or similar).
  • Valid Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and vehicle insurance required.
  • OSHA-30 certification required within 120 days of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position provides overall supervision of all job-site personnel, including subcontractors, vendors, and self-perform crews. Responsibilities include:

  • Directing daily field operations and managing subcontractor performance and manpower.
  • Enforcing safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Coordinating trade sequencing and maintaining accountability across all construction phases.
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints; and resolving problems in accordance with Company policies.

Reports to the Area Manager and serves as the primary on-site authority.

Pay

Salary range: $85,000 – $110,000, based on direct experience.
