About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee residential and mixed-use building developments from groundbreaking through Certificate of Occupancy (C/O).
Responsibilities
- Manage ground-up residential and mixed-use construction projects from site preparation through final C/O.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of construction, including:
- Site work and excavation
- Foundations
- Structural concrete and steel
- Building envelope
- MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)
- Interior fit-out and finishes
Perform quality assurance (QA/QC) inspections throughout construction to ensure work meets plans, specifications, NYC Building Code, and industry standards.
Identify construction deficiencies and oversee corrective actions.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Maintain project schedules and monitor construction progress.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field conditions.
Conduct regular site meetings and communicate project status to management.
Absorb and coordinate approvals required for TCO and final C/O.
Lead and supervise interior finishing crews when required.
Be willing to perform hands-on construction work to support the project when necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing ground-up commercial, residential, or mixed-use construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of the complete construction process from foundation to Certificate of Occupancy.
- Thorough understanding of:
- Foundations
- Structural concrete and steel
- Building envelope
- MEP systems
- Interior finishes
Proven experience performing QA/QC inspections across all construction phases.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
NYC construction experience.
OSHA 30 certification.
Construction Superintendent License is a plus.
Experience coordinating DOB inspections and obtaining TCO/C/O.
Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position.
