About the role
We’re seeking a talented Construction Manager to join our Construction Services team in Newport Beach, CA. We will consider fully remote for the right candidate. As a Construction Manager, you’ll review the monthly status of ground-up construction projects. You will have extensive experience in multi-family / student housing high-rise, garden-style, and podium construction, along with steel and industrial structures. This is a new role that sits on a team of 4 Construction Managers.
Responsibilities
- Review construction documents and property condition assessments to evaluate risks and provide feedback to the Loan Closing and Equity teams during the closing due diligence review period.
- Provide expert technical advice and interpret internal or external business issues to recommend process, product, or service improvements.
- Solve complex problems that impact the business, taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
- Monitor construction through completion to protect against faulty construction and ensure projects are completed in conformance with approved construction documents. Travel is required for on-site draw meetings.
- Understand how loan documents relate to construction deals, set up and attend kick-off meetings for new construction projects.
- Maintain extensive project documentation and related records for internal use and distribution on a regular and scheduled basis.
Requirements
- 10+ years in the construction industry, whether from the General Contracting side as a Construction Project Manager and/or from the Ownership/Development side as a Construction Manager.
- 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the construction industry.
- Proficient knowledge of plans and specifications, construction contracts, and the loan draw review process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under tight deadlines while staying flexible and proactive.
- Proficiency in software applications, specifically Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat Pro, SharePoint, Box, and Procore.
- Willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel is required.

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $137,610.00 - $168,190.00. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Most employees are also eligible for additional incentive pay.
