About the role

We are seeking a Construction Manager to join our team for a project in Longview, WA. This person will manage budget, schedule, communications, and quality for construction projects acting as an owner’s representative. The role requires clear and accurate communication of project information to the client, general public, regulatory agencies, peers, and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site construction, ensuring compliance with codes, safety regulations (including OSHA), and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple construction projects and inspection field staff simultaneously; manage project budget and cost control activities.
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies, such as FERC or similar entities.
  • Implement quality control procedures.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines, act in an Owner’s Representative role, and execute a wide range of construction management activities.
  • Track status, review, and effectively process time-sensitive construction documents including change orders, requests for information, submittals, and other documents.
  • Effectively communicate with the project team including the owner, construction contractor, design team, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in construction management.
  • Demonstrates success in working independently to meet deadlines, act in an Owner’s Representative role, and execute a wide range of construction management activities.
  • Must be safety-oriented and have a working knowledge of safety requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and verify implementation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Adobe, and higher math (trigonometry and geometry).
  • Conducts work in a very detail-oriented manner.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Driven to seek continual learning and improvement.
  • Capable of maintaining composure under pressure and remaining flexible despite interruptions or changes.
  • Must be able to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist, and work outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely. Site visits may include exposure to weather extremes and rough or uneven terrain.
  • Current driver’s license and good driving record required. Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Certification (Construction) or WSDOT inspection certifications.
  • 10 years of work experience in civil design/construction or similar projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet scheduling software.

Pay

US Pay Range: $55 USD - $65 USD (based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations).
