Construction Manager
Duties And Responsibilities
Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Including interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, security, etc.
Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.), purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
On union projects, may assist in jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to. Interpret policies as required.
Maintain official project log and documentation files.
Avoidance of jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related equivalent; or equivalent Field experience.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations essential.
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse, multi-organizational teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software, design tools, and relevant software applications.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
- Pass pre-employment DOT physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- This position requires you to pass and maintain a DOT medical evaluation to drive a Herzog commercial vehicle.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
Physical Requirements

- The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role.
- This position will be physically demanding at times.
- Regularly lift up to 75 pounds of weight, up to an end height of 36 inches for a distance of up to 10 feet.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds of weight, up to an end height of 48 inches for a distance of up to 10 feet.
- Regularly carry weight up to 16 pounds for a distance of up to 100 feet.
- Regularly push/pull a force up to 25 pounds for up to eight minutes continuously.
- Regulary grasp/squeeze equipment or tools with a force up to 40 pounds.
- Regularly ascend and descend a 10 step ladder with up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently climb on/off equipment.
- Regularly ascend/descend a step with a height of 28 inches from the floor.
- Regularly kneel, bend, squat for extended periods of time.
- Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces up to 1 mile.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
- Available to work a 40 hour work week subject to overtime, on call and alternate shifts that may include weeknights, weekends and holidays.
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Able to hear and distinguish auditory signals.
