About the role
We are seeking an On-Site Construction Manager to manage and coordinate the installation phases of projects, ensuring the technical success of projects. The ideal candidate will report to the lead PM and work transparently to address any issues related to the installation portion of the project.
Responsibilities
- Be in charge of the E Tech Group Low Voltage Subcontractor's scope and schedule as it pertains to the installation of a given Material Handling System.
- Deliver the installation portion of a given project on time and under budget, as defined by the E Tech Group Lead Project Manager.
- Communicate with the client and subcontractors by working closely with the Lead Project Manager.
- Develop and maintain project labor resource plans and quality control plans to meet the client's schedule objectives and project budget requirements.
- Maintain firm control of scope and compliance with FRS and contract requirements.
- Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency.
- Forecast monthly project costs to avoid cost overruns.
- Work with the project team to achieve project tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget.
- Work closely with the Operations group to ensure the right resources are assigned to the project at the optimal time.
- Communicate project progress to the team and to the client and be an effective advocate for the project team.
- Identify project risks in advance and mobilize the necessary resources to mitigate risks.
Requirements
- BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background
- 10 years in project and/or construction management environment
- Proficient in the utilization of project and construction management principles, methods, and tools
- Experience in industrial controls for material handling systems, data centers, building management, consumer products, automotive, food & beverage, process industries, energy management, or similar
- Experience in building construction and the managing of subcontractors
- A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork
Qualifications
- Knowledge and expertise of Low Voltage installation of conduit, cable, etc.
- Experience in the use of project management software such as MS Project
- Experience managing control systems, HMI, and other industrial projects
- Experience with MHE solution implementation
- Experience as a tradesman in relation to MHE
- Experience with installation of MHE for Distribution Centers or Intralogistics
