Construction Manager

About the role

This position is responsible for overseeing construction activities, coordinating with project managers, clients, and contractors, and ensuring successful project delivery from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, leadership, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively across teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction management or construction administration on municipal or public works projects
• Strong understanding of public infrastructure construction (roads, drainage, utilities, etc.)
• Experience working with municipal clients, DOTD, or similar agencies
• Knowledge of construction contracts, project scheduling, change order review and cost control
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Louisiana
• Experience with water/wastewater collection and treatment facilities, drainage infrastructure and roadway projects
• Familiarity with Louisiana procurement and permitting processes
• Certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Proficiency with project management software and construction documentation tools (i.e. Headlight, Procore, etc.)
• Experience in LADOTD construction engineering and inspection services; in particular to services provided on projects administered in conjunction with a Local Public Agency (LPA)
