Responsibilities
- Perform field observations to verify construction progress, general conformance, site conditions, and work activities.
- Aid with shutdown planning and coordination with VA facilities personnel and project stakeholders.
- Cook up escorting and access to secure work areas for the general contractor.
- Prepare daily reports documenting construction progress, site conditions, and significant events.
- Aid with field coordination and documentation related to submittals, schedules, testing, punch lists, and closeout and requested.
- Maintain organized project documentation including inspection reports, correspondence, photographs, deficiency logs, and field observations.
- Aid with punch list development, deficiency tracking, final inspections, and project closeout activities.
- Aid with special inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Support project safety efforts through field observations and coordination with the Site Safety Manager.
Requirements
- Experience performing Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), inspection, construction management, or owner’s representative services on commercial, healthcare, federal, or institutional construction projects.
- Familiarity with occupied renovation work, shutdown coordination, phased construction, and stakeholder coordination within active facilities.
- Working knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, means and methods, and institutional building systems.
- Understanding of low-voltage systems and telecommunications infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, pathways, and IDF/MDF room construction.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work professionally in active construction environments.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Relevant experience or other training may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in engineering, construction management, inspection, quality control, information technology, or related construction or IT support services required.
Physical Requirements
- Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoist, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
- While performing the duties of this position, the associate regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
- Occasional lifting of equipment between 10-25 lbs. required.

Pay
$65,000.00+ Depending upon years of experience.
