About the role

Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is seeking a Construction Manager in Blacksburg, Virginia to lead complex infrastructure projects from groundbreaking to ribbon‑cutting.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (required)
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on construction experience (10 years preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia (preferred)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including Motor Vehicle Record review
• Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Skills

• Expertise with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) standards and regulations
• Strong knowledge of materials, safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Proficiency with materials testing equipment and construction management software
• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex construction projects from start to finish
• Coordinate with design, materials, environmental, and traffic engineering teams
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Identify and solve project challenges, making decisive decisions
• Prepare evaluations, written recommendations, and project management correspondence
• Lead and mentor project teams, facilitate meetings, and manage contract schedules and requirements
