BrandSafway is seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of suspended access and motorized equipment projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, prioritizes safety, develops high-performing teams, and excels at building strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
- Lead crews in the safe and productive assembly and disassembly of suspended access and motorized equipment at customer job sites.
- Direct daily field operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Manage labor, materials, equipment, and resources to maximize operational efficiency and project profitability.
- Conduct pre-job planning, site inspections, and engineered drawing reviews to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop project schedules and coordinate work activities based on customer timelines and operational requirements.
- Execute projects according to contract specifications, budget requirements, and quality expectations.
- Project Management
- Perform site assessments and field take-offs to determine project scope, material requirements, and installation considerations.
- Prepare bills of materials and coordinate equipment availability for upcoming projects.
- Monitor project costs, labor utilization, and material consumption to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
- Manage scope changes, modifications, and change orders while maintaining customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Safety & Compliance
- Champion BrandSafway's commitment to safety by creating and maintaining a zero-incident work environment.
- Conduct safety inspections of motorized installations in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all team members follow established safety procedures, work practices, and quality standards.
- Provide guidance on equipment operation, safety checks, emergency procedures, and recovery protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all records meet company and compliance standards.
- Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop field personnel through coaching, training, and on-the-job instruction.
- Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members.
- Review completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering requirements, and customer expectations.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture.
- Customer & Business Development
- Represent BrandSafway professionally during customer meetings, site walks, project reviews, and pre-bid discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Aid sales teams by evaluating project opportunities and providing technical expertise during proposal development.
- Deliver equipment demonstrations and educate customers on safe operating procedures and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance customer service, operational performance, and profitability.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, Technical Diploma, or related degree.
- Certified Competent Person (CPT) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience working with suspended scaffolding or suspended access solutions.
- Previous supervisory or construction management experience.
- Strong knowledge of suspended access systems, motorized equipment, and construction best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, construction plans, and technical specifications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in commercial or industrial construction environments.
- Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and workforce management.
- Experience with customer-facing project management and business development activities.
- Demonstrated success leading crews in high-risk construction environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at significant heights, including projects up to 100 stories above ground.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, including counterweights and equipment components.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
- Frequent climbing, standing, walking, bending, and carrying materials throughout the workday.
