Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a team of construction managers (CMs), inspectors, and Resident Project Representatives (RPRs) in Plummer’s South, Central and Southeast Texas geographies.
- Oversee multiple small to medium size projects or one or two large projects.
- Collaborate with engineers on projects during construction.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineers.
- Develop and manage project schedules.
- Develop and understand budgets and cost assignments.
- Attend outside training such as OSHA, ACI, etc.
- Support the Area Leader and Practice Leader in marketing and business development.
- Recruit and hire technical talent into the team.
Work Environment
- Work in outside weather conditions, primarily in the state of Texas.
- Work in rugged conditions.
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
- Stand up to 8 hours or more at one time.
- Walk in rugged conditions.
- Occasionally work near moving parts.
- Exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
Physical Demands
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 125 pounds occasionally.
- Stand up to 8 hours or more at one time.
- Sit, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of relevant construction management experience leading a team.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in Engineering, Construction Management, or related program.
- Certificate in Construction Manager from CMAA or ability to obtain it within 1 year.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Able to use Microsoft Office programs and other software as assigned.
- Able to travel periodically with sufficient notice.
- Able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
