Construction Management Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Wight & Company is looking for a summer intern to work in our Construction Management group. Construction interns have opportunity to work with the construction team on projects and to collaborate with Wight's architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Shadow superintendents and document on-site progress
• Work with Project Managers in preparing project estimates, schedules, contracts and other project-specific managerial tasks
• Attend team and client meetings in-house and on-site for construction projects, representing Wight & Company
• Develop and maintain strong client relations

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Construction Management or related field
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site(s) in the Chicagoland area
• Basic understanding of construction materials and methods
• Good organization and computer skills
• Openness to learn and have fun

Pay

$20-$25/hr. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
