Construction Management Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Faculty appointments are located on Parkland College's campus in Champaign, Illinois.

Pay

Salary range of $1,406.00 - $1,586.00 per Equated Contact Hour (ECH).

About the Role

Adjunct Faculty teach part-time, advise, and mentor students. Hiring needs depend on student enrollment and course schedules. Courses may be scheduled during days, evenings, weekends, or online. This is an on-campus, part-time appointment covered by the Parkland College Part-Time Faculty collective bargaining unit.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the college.
• Provides classroom instruction aligned with the stated philosophy, objectives, and course outlines of the college.
• Informs students of course regulations, evaluation procedures, and other pertinent information; prepares and distributes a course syllabus early in each term.
• Holds regular office hours for student advising and mentoring; provides timely assistance to students.
• Maintains accurate scholastic records and submits required reports on student progress by published deadlines.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the department chair.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Construction Management or a related field. If hired, a certified official transcript is required.
• Supervisory experience managing construction projects.
• Ability to learn Parkland’s information systems and adapt to new programs as technology changes.
• Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The review includes exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
• Candidates must either not be a SURS annuitant or be willing to suspend their SURS annuity upon employment, except for those receiving their annuity under the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
