Construction Logistics Specialist

About the role

This position focuses on creating, implementing, and overseeing temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow and user experience in complex construction environments, particularly airport building programs. The role involves managing multiple collaborative wayfinding projects, coordinating across disciplines, and ensuring effective communication of technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and oversee temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow and user experience.
• Assess signage quality, visual appeal, and adherence to standards; recommend sign types specific to each project.
• Manage multiple collaborative wayfinding projects with multi-disciplinary teams, including staff with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Coordinate across various disciplines, meeting multiple deadlines under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Read, interpret, and analyze project schedules, Gantt charts, and design plans.
• Evaluate signage needs based on construction activities, environmental factors, and user expectations to maintain effective wayfinding.
• Work with various signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, and font specifications.
• Apply signage, temporary wayfinding, and mapping industry best practices.
• Review projects' submittals, Phasing Plans, and Site Logistics Plans for wayfinding impacts.
• Develop concepts, location plans, and proposed wayfinding paths of travel with high visual impact.
• Plan, produce, and install temporary wayfinding that translates complex information into easy-to-understand visuals.
• Conduct regular site walks to evaluate signage effectiveness and update plans as needed.
• Track phasing for production and installation schedules across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion.
• Verify the quality and consistency of signage and wayfinding elements, ensuring visual appeal and usability.
• Manage layout and information design, including formatting wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder updates, and presentation materials.
• Apply visual hierarchy, consistency, readability, and brand/program standards to ensure materials are clear, professional, and audience-appropriate.
• Write, edit, proofread, and communicate technical or field-based information clearly to both project teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam for creating, editing, and reviewing visual materials and layouts.
• Use Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) for project communication, scheduling, and documentation.
• Pass a federal background check.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field (required). Master’s degree preferred.
• Ten (10) or more years of experience on airport building programs or similar complex building programs.
• Two (2) or more years of wayfinding experience, specifically in creating, implementing, and overseeing temporary wayfinding strategies.
• Experience managing multiple collaborative wayfinding projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing project schedules, Gantt charts, and design plans.
• In-depth understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, and font specifications.
• Strong visualization skills and experience developing concepts, location plans, and proposed wayfinding paths of travel.
• Hands-on experience with installation procedures, including regular site walks to evaluate signage effectiveness.
• Skilled in tracking phasing for production and installation schedules across multiple projects.

Skills

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam for creating, editing, and reviewing visual materials and layouts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) for project communication, scheduling, and documentation.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical or field-based information to both project teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or other relevant professional licensure or certifications (preferred).

Pay

This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $104,140.00 - $114,140.00, commensurate with skill, education, experience, and work location. This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
