Construction Litigation Attorney
About the role
Procopio is seeking a mid-level Associate with approximately 5–7 years of construction litigation experience to join the firm’s Litigation Team in the San Diego and/or Del Mar Heights offices. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing practice at an AmLaw 200 Firm representing owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and other construction industry clients in a broad range of complex disputes. The role offers substantial client contact, practice development, and professional growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of construction litigation in both State and Federal courts, including contract, delay, payment, mechanic’s lien, and other commercial construction disputes.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, meet and confer correspondence, dispositive motions, trial briefs, settlement agreements, and client reports.
- Argue routine motions and make regular court and arbitration appearances.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Assist with trial and arbitration preparation.
Requirements
- California bar admission.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Strong writing, verbal, analytical, and research skills.
- Experience working in a private law firm handling civil litigation matters.
- Past experience participating in moot court and/or law review (preferred).
- Judicial clerkship experience (a plus).
Pay
Typical salary range is from $195,000 to $325,000 depending on experience. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, bringing the possible total compensation range to $280,000–$440,000 annually.
