Construction Laborer

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in setting up and maintaining construction sites.
• Ensure construction sites are clean and safe.
• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
• Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
• Load and unload construction materials and tools.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
• Use equipment to break old forms and structures.
• Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and carry out tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in traffic management to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.
• Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles.

Qualifications And Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
• Prior experience in a construction-related field is preferred.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy items and work overtime.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Good understanding of basic math.
• Proficient in using manual and power tools safely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Completion of a vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans would be a plus.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• This job requires the ability to perform tasks on physical job sites.
• May include exposure to weather conditions, loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials.
• Workers must adhere to safety protocols, including the use of protective gear.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work from heights or in small confined spaces if needed.
