Operations Intern Location: Michigan Project Sites Department: Operations Reports To: Project Manager Build Your Future With Us Are you ready to gain real-world experience on commercial construction projects that shape communities across Michigan? As an Operations Intern, you'll work alongside Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents, gaining firsthand exposure to the planning, coordination, and execution of complex construction projects. Whether your interests are in project management, field operations, engineering, preconstruction, safety, or leadership, you'll gain valuable experience that will help launch your career in construction. What You'll Do As an Operations Intern, you'll play an active role in supporting project teams by: Assisting with project documentation, reporting, and file management. Creating and maintaining physical and electronic project files. Managing submittal logs, drawing logs, and inspection tracking systems. Monitoring project submittals to support timely review and approval. Entering and tracking RFIs (Requests for Information) and helping facilitate responses. Assisting with labor hour tracking and reporting. Preparing meeting minutes and distributing project communications. Tracking project bulletins, scope changes, and contract modifications. Supporting change order administration and project cost documentation. Updating punch lists and project closeout items. Participating in project reviews and lessons learned discussions. Spending time in the field shadowing Superintendents to learn how commercial construction projects are built from the ground up. What You'll Learn Construction project management fundamentals Project documentation and contract administration Field operations and jobsite coordination Communication and collaboration across project teams Problem-solving in a fast-paced construction environment Industry software and project management tools What We're Looking For Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Architecture, or a related field. Interest in building a career within the commercial construction industry. Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Eagerness to learn and contribute as part of a team. Reliable transportation to and from assigned project locations. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods. Ability to stand and walk on active construction sites. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Comfortable traversing uneven terrain. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Why Join Us?
