Construction Inspector - Transportation

About the role

NV5 is looking for a Construction Inspector with 3 to 5 years field experience in public infrastructure, transit and aviation construction management is required. Candidates with heavy civil transportation experience and knowledge and experience with Caltrans specifications are preferred. Good written and oral communication skills. Good knowledge of aviation industry practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply contract documents including Standard Plans and Specifications
• Understand varying types and methods of industry construction practices
• Apply State safety orders and traffic control requirements
• Utilize field office engineering techniques
• Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with internal and external clients
• Exercise negotiation skills with respect to internal and external clients

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of construction inspection experience
• Knowledge of contract documents to include but not limited to the Standard Plans and Specifications
• Knowledge of varying types and methods of industry construction practices
• Knowledge of State safety orders and traffic control
• Knowledge of field office engineering techniques
• Effective communication, both written and verbal
• Negotiation skills with respect to internal and external clients

Pay

The pay range for this California position is $50.00–$80.00 per hour. Base pay information is based on market location.
