Construction Inspector II

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a Construction Inspector II to join our Construction Services team. Our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain, and we are a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards, codes, and specifications.
• Prepares daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
• Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
• Coverage of field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
• Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.
• Communicates verbally and in writing with contractor, owner, and project stakeholders as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field.
• Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
• Absence of attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
• Familiarity with use of PC-based computer systems and/or tablet systems.
• Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
• Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type.
