Construction Inspector

Responsibilities

• Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports, project photographs, etc.
• Cook up coordination with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project.
• Aid Resident Engineers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, potential change orders, and communication with businesses and residents.
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance.
• Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures.
• Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards), including checking grades, formwork, rebar placement, concrete batch tickets, curing method, etc.
• Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Ability to use computer to complete project documentation.
• Thorough understanding of CAL OSHA practices and procedures.
• Bridge construction inspection experience required.
• Knowledge of Caltrans procedures and standards highly preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening.
• Clean Drivers license and DMV record required.
