Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Monitor contractor operations including earthwork, drainage, paving, structures, traffic control devices, and utilities.
- Prepare Daily Work Reports documenting contractor activities and installed quantities.
- Verify materials used on the project meet required specifications.
- Coincide with materials testing personnel and verify test results.
- Maintain traffic operations and jobsite safety.
- Report construction issues to the Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer.
- Maintain accurate field documentation for project records.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in highway or bridge construction inspection.
- NICET Level I or II certification in Transportation Construction Inspection or Construction Materials Testing.
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification.
- Preferred Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
- ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification.
- Mid-Atlantic transportation construction inspection certification (MATCI or equivalent).
- Experience with materials testing and field density testing.
