About the role
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Water Team at a client site in Chester, PA. The ideal candidate will support the successful delivery of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Monitor construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects to ensure full compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and quality standards
- Review drawings, submittals, and construction documents; verify materials, methods, and work sequences meet requirements
- Document field observations, measurements, and computations to determine acceptability of completed work and support progress payment verification
- Identify nonconforming work, evaluate proposed corrective measures, and recommend acceptance or rejection
- Cook with daily with owners, contractors, and local authorities; serve as the primary on-site contact for construction-related issues
- Prepare clear daily reports, maintain accurate project records, and support QA testing, surveys, and constructability reviews
- Lead project meetings, guide administrative documentation, and mentor entry-level inspectors to support successful project delivery
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of related construction observation experience required
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, contract documents, and industry standards with the ability to interpret client contracts
- Ability to work independently on complex projects as well as collaboratively within a team; willingness to guide entry level staff
- Excellent communication skills and strong mathematics skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license required; extensive travel may be required
