CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR 1-4

About the role

The incumbent must be self-motivated and capable of performing duties independently or with minimal supervision. They must also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions and participate in DOTD structured training programs.

Job Duties

• Affords assistance in the sampling and testing of construction materials for DOTD construction projects to ensure compliance with DOTD policies, procedures, and specifications.
• Attends required training classes and receives on-the-job training in performing materials sampling and/or testing.
• Completes all training for Materials Testing Specialty areas as required by the position.
• Maintains an accurate and thorough inventory of all materials sampled.
• Enters test data into appropriate computer database and retrieves information and/or procures reports as necessary.
• Maintains all testing equipment, which may include cleaning, routine calibration, maintenance and certification of sampling and testing equipment.
• May be required to participate in emergency/disaster activities.
• Skilled use of programs/software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Reader, Site Manager, Content Manager, and LaGov.
