Position

Full Time

Hours: Same as Contractor Hours, typically 7:00am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Oversight:
    • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications.
    • Conduct daily field inspections and document site activities and progress.
    • Identify and document any construction issues, non-conformance, or safety concerns.
    • Promote and enforce safety practices in accordance with OSHA and project-specific standards.
  • Project Administration:
    • Maintain daily diary reports.
    • Monitor OE duties of tracking quantities and process contractor payment applications.
    • Coordinate materials testing, verification, and inspection procedures.
    • Communicate regularly with client representatives regarding project status.

Requirements

  • NICET Level IV certification or equivalent experience (required).
  • At least 10 years of relevant field inspection experience, preferably with New York State DOT or New York State Thruway Authority.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided project administration software.
  • PE Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience may be considered.
  • OSHA 10 certification and strong knowledge of construction site safety practices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and between project locations in Onondaga County.
