Construction Group Manager

Responsible for the managerial direction and growth of the construction group. This position offers exciting challenges and opportunities for managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, and resources; mentoring young staff engineers, assisting in transportation market business development, and participating in professional organizations and technical committees.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited program
- At least 15 years of construction management experience
- Licensed professional engineer (PE) required
- Proven work experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, counties, and municipalities in construction management
- Understanding of all facets of the transportation construction process and standards (IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, FHWA, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of roadway construction, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Proficiency with business and engineering applications
- Strong team and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer transportation construction projects
- Oversee and manage all construction staff to maximize efficiency and strengths
- Assist with business development and project pursuit management
- Coordinate with clients and assist with overall planning
- Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective staff utilization
- Develop and implement QC plans, safety plans, and schedules
- Complete weekly/monthly reports on work progress and conduct status meetings with department/division managers
- Coordinate and direct staff and subconsultants
- Perform performance reviews for direct reports

Pay
$110,000–$160,000 per year
