About the Role

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded litigation team representing insurers, businesses, and other clients in matters involving general liability, construction accidents, transportation claims, and casualty litigation. Responsibilities

  • Independently manage matters involving insurance defense, general liability, transportation, and New York Labor Law construction claims.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation strategy and case development.
  • Regularly communicate with clients, providing litigation updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Maintain compliance with court deadlines, reporting requirements, and litigation budgets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver exceptional client service.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission and good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • 4+ years of litigation experience, including matters that have proceeded through mediation, arbitration, or trial.
  • Experience handling insurance defense, premises liability, general liability, or casualty litigation matters.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court.
  • Familiarity with New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241 is preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA proceedings, Corporation Counsel, or District Attorney matters is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Experience using legal research and case management platforms.
