Construction Field Engineer

WSP is seeking a Construction Field Engineer for our Milwaukee, WI office. Join our Wisconsin Construction Services Team and contribute to a growing organization that delivers on client objectives and solves complex challenges.

About the role

Responsible for ensuring daily contract compliance to project plans and specifications on construction projects and maintaining documentation to support quality specifications, payment, and project acceptance.

  • Read, understand, and interpret project plans and contract documents.
  • Identify possible issues in contract documents and propose solutions or refer them to the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Coordinator as appropriate.
  • Act as liaison to monitor communication and exchange of information between the project manager, engineering team, management, contractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate all internal and external communication relative to the project.
  • Assist in the review of the contractor’s project schedule and estimate resource and material requirements; maintain respective planning and scheduling updates throughout the project life cycle.
  • Work closely with project administrators and project manager to prepare reports detailing project costs, progress, risks, and opportunities for review by senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relative experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and oral communication.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in this country immediately.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with WisDOT, County, and Local Municipality policies and procedures.
  • WisDOT certifications in PCC, Aggregate, and Grading Technician.
