Responsibilities
- Be on site full-time during normal working hours, Monday-Friday
- Work with Hill team, which includes one other full-time, on-site resource and several part-time remote resources
- Maintain communication with the Client’s staff, and Contractor staff
- Review and advise recommendations to the client on approval of contractor’s monthly payment request, which will include detailed documentation from sub-contractors, vendors, and other suppliers
- Aid with coordination and oversight of client’s third-party testing and inspection and commissioning consultants
- Provide technical and contractual review for merit on all contractors submitted change requests
- When a change is acknowledged, review contractor proposal for compliance with contract and against industry standards for reasonableness of the price
- Periodically, conduct independent estimates to review and compare to the contractor proposal
- Aid client with keeping track of allowance and contingency funding
- Prepare monthly reports
- Attend job progress meetings, MEP coordination workshops, Superintendent weekly huddles, and other meetings necessary to represent the client team
- Proactively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and/or prepare change orders needed to resolve conflicts and/or recommend improvements
- Periodically conduct field inspections of contractor’s work to determine compliance with plans, specifications, special provisions, utility agreements, etc.
- Aid when needed to review contractor’s submittals for completeness, coordination of prime contractor and any affected utility or agency, and verification of field conditions
- Document field activities for purposes of mitigation of change conditions
- Document as-built condition of constructed work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in construction management of building construction, industrial or manufacturing projects (optional)
- Proficient understanding and ability to interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents
- Strong critical thinking and creativity skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgement by making decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and people management skills
