Construction Field Engineer
GHD's Construction group is seeking a Construction Field Engineer to work on construction job sites throughout the United States, with openings primarily in Ohio, Virginia, and Illinois. This position will not sponsor visa requirements.
About the role
In this role, you will participate in small- to large-scale environmental and heavy civil construction projects, including heavy civil, demolition, remediation, dredging/waterway, and general contracting. You will ensure deadlines and quality control measures are met, evaluate project work in accordance with timelines and budgets, and align with organizational goals and project scope. This role requires working remotely on project sites with regular rotations home. Candidates can be located anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project proposals, including reviewing requests for proposals, obtaining quotes, and estimating
- Support the Superintendent with managing project timelines, deadlines, and requirements
- Act as the key point of contact for ordering materials and equipment
- Perform GPS surveying and equipment setup
- Complete estimating takeoffs
- Assist with weekly timesheets, expense reports, and project tracking
- Provide training to other team members as needed
Requirements
- Construction-related degree
- 2+ years of construction experience preferred
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D experience is a plus
- Understanding of estimating software and GPS software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and rapidly changing priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team and independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able and willing to travel throughout the United States up to 50% of the time
Pay
Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000, pending experience.
