Responsibilities
- Utilize and continuously improve RaLin's estimating system and processes.
- Define deliverables and acceptable timeline for each bid or budget, including bid administration.
- Prepare and maintain status of plan reproduction; communicate with subcontractors and vendors.
- Prepare subcontractor bid packages and perform quantity take-offs with detail sheets.
- Transmit addenda and other bid information to subcontractors and ensure that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day.
- Contact supply houses to obtain additional subcontractor bids and gain adequate pricing from subcontractors.
- Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline.
- Enter all relevant information into Sage (Timberline), Procore, and Microsoft Teams; post Bid review and captures estimate in cost history database.
- Support development of the strategic plan to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth.
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and ensure thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned.
- Develop RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage.
- Perform a comprehensive "bid day" analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades.
- Project Approach – develop estimating approach to winning project, key subs, or fee enhancement strategy, etc.
- Drive Value with alternate approaches, constructability review and value-engineering ideas on every bid.
- Risk assessment – make general recommendations concerning project complexity, LD’s, Contract Duration or other bid factors.
- Consistently follow up on submitted bids and budgets with Architect, Owner and/or Construction Manager to close business.
- Properly turn over bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner.
- Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern.
- Complete Estimating Turnover Form to ensure compliance.
- Thoroughly check requirements to buy the proper scope.
- Ensure that subs are aware of (and commit to) the project schedule.
- Seek and qualify new subcontractors.
Qualifications
- A 4-year college degree from an accredited university.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, MS Project.
- Self-motivated & punctual.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
- Professional and polished in appearance and speech.

Work Environment

- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- This is a full-time position, and normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5 pm with the potential for occasional evening and weekend work, depending on exigent circumstances.
