Construction Estimator - Commercial

About the role

A Commercial Construction Estimator responsible for managing the entire pre-construction process at a corporate headquarters, focusing on hotel renovation projects valued up to $5 million.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings to develop accurate project budgets.
• Perform high-precision digital quantity takeoffs and consolidate trade data into structured spreadsheets.
• Lead bid solicitation efforts by sourcing regional subcontractors and negotiating competitive pricing.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals to ensure scope alignment and full coverage across trades.
• Coordinate with municipal officials and engineers to ensure jurisdictional compliance.
• Serve as a technical liaison with clients for pre-bid questions, design clarifications, and value engineering.
• Finalize estimates and prepare comprehensive financial handoff packages for project teams.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of estimating experience in commercial renovations or tenant improvements up to $5 million.
• Proven expertise in subcontractor procurement, vetting, and bid management.
• Advanced proficiency with digital takeoff software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and audit complex technical drawings.
• Knowledge of local building codes, permitting, and zoning regulations.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
