Construction Engineer II

About the role

AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Construction Engineer II in the Transportation Department in Chicago, IL. Under general supervision, performs routine duties. Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications. Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work. Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design. Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting. May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• BA/BS plus + 2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid Drivers License is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS plus + 2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Preferred Qualifications: 4 years of construction experience within the transportation sector. Field engineering background - DWM experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Ability to evaluate and apply these techniques to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
• Professional judgment on details of work.
• Experience performing walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities.
• Experience with quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
• Technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $74,500 to $120,000 per year.
