Construction Engineer
Responsibilities
- Aid in document control and maintenance of contract documents.
- Utilize project closeout checklist to compile project closeout documents.
- Input Potential Change Orders (PCO) and Issues in CMiC, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure pricing data is accurate and follow approval processes.
- Participate in monthly payment application process and subcontractor invoice reviews.
- Understand RFI and submittal processes and their impact on risk mitigation.
- Input correct data into CMiC.
- Aid in assembling Contract Items List (CIL) and ensure compliance.
- Assist with monthly GC/GR forecasting and management.
- Help develop subcontract labor projections for field support.
- Complete/have completed OSHA 30-hour training with current certificate.
- Assist in field walks to understand Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and pretask planning.
- Review for safety and compliance items during field walks.
- Assist in developing pre-assembly meeting agendas and minutes.
- Understand and assist with implementing project-specific Quality Control (QC) Plan.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of risks associated with the project.
- Work with project staff to incorporate safety preplanning into all phases of the projects.
- Understand and interpret safety scopes of work for contractors.
- Show confidence in presenting safety-related information and responding to related questions.
- Understand basics of GSTEPS and model GCON values on the jobsite.
- Support the community and foster GCON community relations through volunteer activities.
- Be willing to travel for work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to learn and adapt to technology platforms.
- Proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Preferred qualifications include computer software experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, BIM 360, Assemble, MS Project P6, or similar platforms.
Skills
- Strong understanding of risks associated with the project.
- Ability to demonstrate GCON values on the jobsite.
- Willingness to travel for work.
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking/Sitting: Combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Legs: Must be able to climb stairs.
- Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use.
- Visual Acuity: Near, mid, and far range vision; color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
- Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.
- Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio.
- Lift/Carry: Up to 40 lbs.
- Bending/Twisting: Ability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl.
