Construction Engineer
Responsibilities
- Document all activities on site during the duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
- Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
- Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
- Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Observing general job safety practices.
- Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
- Able to work as a team.
- Possibility of weekend and night work as needed.
Requirements
- B.S. or B.A. degree in an appropriate construction-related, technical, or engineering field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and/or related experience.
- Four years of experience in construction inspection, two years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- Preferred experience with IDOT, ISTHA, Chicago DOT, CTA, Metra, Class 1 Railroad construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
