Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of construction defect litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents related to construction defect litigation.
- Represent clients in court and argue motions, take effective depositions of lay and expert witnesses.
- Consult with clients and advise on legal rights, obligations, and risks associated with construction defect litigation.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies to resolve complex construction defect disputes.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure the best legal service is provided.
- Stay abreast of current trends, rulings, and advancements in construction law and litigation.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction law, litigation, defense, and insurance defense.
- Proven experience in civil litigation and civil defense.
- Extensive knowledge of general liability, motion practice, deposition, discovery, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to interpret and draft legal documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
