Responsibilities
- Keep current with and apply Morton Buildings' safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards.
- Read, understand, and build according to construction plans.
- Execute tasks needed to complete a quality building, including digging and installing footings, framing walls and roof structures, installing windows, entry and other doors and door openings, installing various siding and roofing materials, and finishing with metal and wood trims.
- Provide leadership for the crew in all aspects of the building construction process.
- Aid in the technical training and re-training of crew members.
- Create a positive team atmosphere that works towards achieving company objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in building construction.
- Carpentry, framing, post-frame construction, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Class A CDL license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide leadership.
- Ability to measure human productivity and improve effectiveness.
- Embrace accountability and ownership.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Flexible schedule available (6am to 6pm), including Saturdays during peak construction periods.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Physically capable of working in a demanding environment and at various heights.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
