Construction Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Cook up all phases of construction projects including pre-construction, permitting, design, material procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Support planning of workflows, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with established standards and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address delays or issues.
  • Develop and support cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Monitor job costs and track work-in-progress against budget.
  • Review and evaluate change orders for accuracy and financial impact.
  • Support cost control efforts to ensure project profitability.
  • Conduct site walkouts and ride-outs to assess project conditions, gather data, and monitor progress.
  • Perform post-construction reviews to ensure quality and completion standards are met.
  • Identify field issues and collaborate on solutions with internal teams and contractors.
  • Cook up and oversee subcontractors and construction crews.
  • Monitor contractor performance against project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Partner with internal teams including Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, Legal, Engineering, and Design.
  • Provide technical input and construction support to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates to leadership and relevant teams.
  • Cook up permit applications, licensing, and make-ready processes.
  • Interface with municipalities, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Maintain project logs, reports, and documentation related to construction activities, materials, and expenditures.
  • Track project milestones and provide status updates to management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project data.
  • Review and respond to customer requests and complaints related to construction activities.
  • Ensure timely resolution and maintain customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Educational background: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in cable/telecom construction (fiber and coax preferred), 2–5 years of experience in project coordination or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Exposure: Full construction lifecycle (design through closeout), Telecom infrastructure deployment (aerial and underground).
  • Budgeting, cost tracking, and financial coordination.
  • Contractor and vendor management.
  • Regulatory and permitting processes.

  • On-time project completion.
  • Budget adherence and cost control.
  • Quality of construction and post-build outcomes.
  • Contractor and crew performance.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of project reporting.
  • Reduction in rework and field issues.
  • Customer satisfaction and issue resolution.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and perform field inspections.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
