Construction Coordinator

About the role
The Construction Manager will coordinate all aspects of project construction, including material acquisition, delivery, and receipt, while providing routine updates to Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily reports, if not supplied by the contractor, and submit to the Project Manager.
- Review overall construction sequence and Issue for Construction (IFC) prints.
- Ensure QA/QC on applicable construction methods and materials.
- Ensure construction activities align with AES Requirements and Construction Specifications.
- Lead construction activity coordination and host weekly construction update meetings with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate necessary protection and control isolation sequences and receive isolation orders.
- Work with the Safety Group to schedule Safety Coordinators and stay informed of site safety issues from the Safety Observer.
- Actively participate in safety observation and improvement activities, attend relevant safety meetings, and respond to and report all safety incidents.
- Review invoices and validate units of work or milestones completed.
- Collect signed material receipts from contractors and forward them to the Project Manager for Goods Receipt (GR) creation.
- Coordinate with AES Environmental for SWPPP inspections, soil testing, material disposal, and other environmental involvement.
- Assist the Project Manager in assembling documentation for Change Order Requests.
- Coordinate and document the return of all unused materials.
- Assist the Project Manager in the project close-out checklist.
- Participate in construction contractor bid evaluations and coordinate performance evaluations and documentation.
- Maintain daily field presence on assigned projects.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management of multi-million dollar projects.
- Experience with electric utility projects preferred, particularly in Line or Substation construction.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; exposure to project scheduling software, preferably Primavera (P6).
- Competence in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time, communication, and project management skills.
- Travel to projects throughout the AES Indiana service territory is required.
- Holiday, weekend, and irregular hours may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent job experience.
