Erwin Electric, Inc. is currently seeking a Controller in the Tampa Bay Area. Job Description: Erwin Electric is seeking a Construction Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. We are looking for someone who is highly comfortable with technology, enjoys improving processes, and actively looks for opportunities to eliminate repetitive work through better software, integrations, automation, and artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate combines a strong construction-accounting background with a technology-forward mindset. You should be equally comfortable updating WIP schedules and job profitability as you are evaluating a new software platform, building a workflow, improving data flow between systems, or using AI to automate an administrative process. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure efficient and effective internal controls for accounting processes and identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency through automationPrepare accurate and timely financial reporting packagesHandle month-end close journal entries and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecastsOversee and direct Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)Collaborate with all departments to improve information flow, implement policies, and protect assetsReconcile credit card and bank statementsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulationsCompile financial records and documents for CPA and bonding purposesComplete General Contractor required pre-qualification documentsPrepare monthly sales tax returns Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration5 to 10 years of accounting experienceStrong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook Salary - $110K - $120K FL.
