Construction/Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• Technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center (AJW-2C18D)
• Create site-specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance
• Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all (state, local, federal, FAA, etc.) standards, construction codes and ordinances
• Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during scope of work and project transmittal
• Prepare drawings and specification lists
• Prepare operational risk management checklists
• Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) and NAS Change Proposals (NCP)
• List of Government furnished properties
• Prepare airspace case documents
• Assess engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program Project checklists
• Prepare engineering cost estimates for project plans per FAA Standard/guidelines
• Prepare estimated completion times and project schedules

Required Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited college or university
• 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects
• Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities
• Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work
• Proficiency in AUTOCAD
• Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12
• Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET)
• Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB)
• Knowledge of Project management software (Primavera, Microsoft project, etc.)
• 25%-35% business travel

Desired Qualifications

• Prior experience working with FAA supporting Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) and Long-Range Radar (LRR) programs
