Description Buyer / Purchasing Matrix Basement Finishing Position Overview Matrix Basement Finishing is seeking an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to support our growing residential remodeling operations. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and coordinating construction materials across multiple active projects while maintaining vendor relationships, cost control, and project timelines. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience within the construction, remodeling, or building materials industry and understands the fast-paced demands of residential production environments. Responsibilities Manage purchasing and procurement of construction materials for active remodeling projectsSource and negotiate pricing with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and subcontractorsMaintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure material availability and delivery performanceCoordinate material ordering schedules with production, installation, warehouse, and project management teamsTrack purchase orders, invoices, deliveries, backorders, and inventory levelsMonitor project budgets and assist in controlling material costs and purchasing variancesEnsure materials meet project specifications, quality standards, and installation timelinesResearch alternative products and vendors to improve cost efficiency and operational performanceResolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, and vendor-related issuesMaintain accurate purchasing records within company systems and ERP/software platformsSupport field teams with urgent material requests and jobsite coordinationAssist leadership in developing purchasing processes, vendor standards, and operational efficienciesStay informed on pricing trends, supply chain conditions, and construction market fluctuations Qualifications 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience within construction, remodeling, building supply, or related industriesStrong understanding of residential construction materials including:LumberDrywallFlooringTrim and finish materialsCabinetsPlumbing and electrical materialsDoors/windowsHardware and specialty productsExperience working with vendors, contractors, warehouses, and field operationsStrong negotiation and cost-management skillsAbility to manage multiple active projects and priorities simultaneouslyHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, purchasing software, ERP systems, or construction management platformsStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary: $80,000Health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunities within a rapidly growing organizationCollaborative and supportive team environment Join Matrix Basement Finishing At Matrix Basement Finishing, we take pride in transforming homes and delivering exceptional experiences for our customers.
