About the role

Lamar Advertising Company is seeking a new Operations crew member to join our team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to build and maintain billboards for brands in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain billboards, including the installation of advertisements, maintenance of structures, and upkeep of billboard cosmetics.
  • Work as part of an installation crew.
  • Perform tasks such as removing and hanging flexes, vinyls, cutting and preparing materials, changing light bulbs, painting structures, assembling structures and faces, and conducting storm damage repairs.
  • Build and install extensions, cut brush/weeds, and perform minor electrical repairs.
  • Take completion photos for proof of performance.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills, including speaking and reading English fluently.
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Ability to comply with Lamar safety standards while performing work.
  • Ability to work from ladders and carry a ladder and/or other tools to the worksite from a vehicle.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and fabrication skills.
  • General knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to safely use construction equipment.
  • Ability to climb heights and work at heights above ground safely.
  • Ability to document installations through photographs and written logs.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course required.
  • Preferred certifications, depending on location need: CDL/Non-CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD.
  • Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground preferred.

Skills

  • Practical applications of mathematics.
  • Reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams.
  • Skill in setting priorities.

Pay

  • $19 - $21 / hour, dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

Education and experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course required.
