Construction - Billboard Installer

Our Lamar office in Tulsa, Oklahoma is hiring a new Operations crew member to install and maintain billboards, bringing outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Tulsa and the surrounding areas.
About the role
This entry-level, full-time position focuses on installing and maintaining billboards, including advertisement installation, structural maintenance, and cosmetic upkeep. The role typically works alone and requires effective work schedule management. Comfort with heights is essential, as the tallest billboard structure reaches approximately 200 feet.
Responsibilities
- Remove and hang flexes and vinyls from billboards
- Cut and prepare flexes, vinyls, and copies for installation
- Install copies on Tri-Visions
- Build and install billboard extensions
- Cut brush/weeds and conduct storm damage repairs
- Perform minor electrical repairs
- Maintain a clean workshop area
- Use power/manual tools while adhering to safety regulations
- Attend installer and construction safety meetings
- Maintain operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery
- Take completion photos for proof of performance
- Document installations through photographs and written logs
Maintenance tasks
- Tighten bolts on steel structures
- Paint steel structures
- Repair trim and various parts of billboard sign faces
- Change light bulbs
Requirements
- Ability to work alone and manage your work schedule effectively
- Willingness to work at heights up to 100 feet above the ground
- Strong communication skills; fluency in English (speaking and reading)
- Ability to work well with others
- Basic computer skills (Internet navigation, Microsoft Word & Excel)
- Ability to work from ladders and carry tools to the worksite
- Working knowledge of electrical and fabrication skills/techniques
- Skill in reading technical documents (blueprints, diagrams)
- General knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to safely use construction equipment
- Ability to climb and work at heights safely
- Skill in practical applications of mathematics for construction/operations tasks
- Skill in setting priorities based on job responsibilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course (required)
- CDL and Non-CDL licenses (a plus, not required)
- Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. (preferred)
- Construction and/or billboard installation experience (a plus, not required)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to climb to heights up to 200 ft.
- Heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds)
- Extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and stooping
- Sitting less than 50% of the time; standing, walking, and driving required
- Climbing, turning, and talking
- Visual acuity for reading, color distinction, depth perception, and peripheral vision
- Less than 10% of nights spent away from home traveling
- On-call shifts may be required
