Construction - Billboard Installer
Our Lamar office in Rapid City, South Dakota is hiring a new Operations crew member to install and maintain billboards, including advertisements, structures, and cosmetics, for brands in Rapid City and surrounding areas. This action-packed role works as part of an installation crew and provides all training and equipment to start your career in outdoor advertising.

Responsibilities
- Installing and maintaining all billboards
- Removing and hanging flexes and vinyls, cutting and preparing them for installation
- Cutting, preparing, and installing copy on Tri-Visions
- Maintaining structures, including tightening bolts, painting steel structures, repairing trim and sign faces, changing light bulbs, and assembling structures
- Building and installing extensions
- Cutting brush/weeds and conducting storm damage repairs
- Performing minor electrical repairs and sweeping/cleaning workshop areas
- Using power/manual tools while adhering to all safety regulations
- Attending safety meetings as required
- Maintaining operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery
- Taking completion photos for proof of performance
Requirements
- Good communication skills and ability to speak and read English fluently
- Willingness to work and get along well with others
- Basic computer skills, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel
- Ability to comply with Lamar safety standards
- Ability to work from ladders and carry tools to the worksite
- Working knowledge of electrical skills and techniques
- Working knowledge of fabrication skills and techniques
- Skill in reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams
- General knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to safely use construction equipment for outdoor structures
- Ability to climb and work at heights above ground safely
- Ability to document installations through photographs and written logs
- Skill in practical applications of mathematics for construction and operations tasks
- Skill in setting priorities that reflect job responsibilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course (required)
- Preferred certifications: CDL/Non-CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD
- Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground (preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions
- Ability to climb to heights up to 200 ft.
- Heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds)
- Extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and stooping
- Standing, walking, driving, and climbing for most of the workday
- Sitting less than 50% of the time
- Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%
- On-call shifts may be required
Pay
An hourly range of $19 - $21, dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.
