Construction Automation Specialist

The Construction Automation Specialist supports the day-to-day operation, setup, and maintenance of Construction Automation systems on an assigned construction project. This role provides hands-on support for digital tools, workflows, and field-related technology used by construction, project controls, ES&H, commissioning, and other project teams. Working under the direction of the Construction Automation Lead, the Construction Automation Specialist focuses on system setup, user support, troubleshooting, and maintaining reliable Construction Automation operations in an active construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, and support TEAMWorks and related project applications.
- Coordinate the collection, validation, maintenance, and reporting of construction and engineering data.
- Support systemization, work packaging, turnover management, commissioning, and project progress reporting activities.
- Monitor data quality and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve data integrity.
- Develop and distribute reports, dashboards, and progress tracking tools to support project execution and management decision-making.
- Support integrations and interfaces between TEAMWorks and other project systems as required.
- Provide day-to-day user support, troubleshooting, onboarding, and training for project personnel and contractors.
- Work directly with field personnel, supervisors, engineers, and CSU teams to ensure successful adoption and effective use of the TEAMWorks application.
- Document business processes, procedures, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Participate in testing and validation of application updates, enhancements, and new functionality.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, data quality, and overall project efficiency.
- Support project turnover and system handover activities through accurate tracking, reporting, and completion management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Five or more years of experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, turnover, quality, project controls, or related project execution activities.
- Experience administering SetRoute, construction processes, commissioning, construction management, or project information management systems.
- Understanding of construction, system turnover, CSU processes, work packaging, turnover planning, and project reporting.
- Experience working with project data, reporting tools, dashboards, analytics, and business applications.
Skills
- Experience supporting major capital EPC projects in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, battery, data center, or other industrial sectors.
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, turnover, and system handover activities.
- Familiarity with construction and project delivery platforms such as TEAMWorks, SetRoute, Unifier, Procore, or similar systems.
- Experience with SQL, SSRS, Databricks, data validation, dashboard development, data integration, and project analytics.
- Prior experience supporting field-based construction technology or digital project execution systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with construction, commissioning, engineering, quality, project controls, and contractor personnel.
- Ability to support and train users while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced project environment.
Schedule
- Full-time assignment at an active construction project site in Houston, Texas.
- Requires daily on-site presence and direct support of project teams in both office and field environments.
- Significant time may be spent walking around the project site and supporting construction and commissioning activities in the field.
- Requires the ability to work in outdoor conditions and active construction environments.
- This position is not eligible for telework, remote work, or visa sponsorship.
