About the role

The Traveling Assistant Superintendent is responsible for a specific portion of a construction project. Significant areas of responsibility are safety, compliance, coordination of materials, scheduling, and proper handling of project materials.

This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be located onsite at a project location for the duration of the project. Per diem will be provided for those traveling greater than 75 miles from their home address. This position will be eligible for routine travel home. A company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adjust project schedules, coordinating across all trades and phases
  • Manage site logistics, including access, material storage, deliveries and equipment
  • Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Oversee subcontractor work and maintain site documentation, including RFI's, daily reports, and safety records
  • Oversee procurement, vendor management, and material ordering
  • Oversee punch list completion and final project inspections
  • Lead project coordination meetings and facilitate issue resolution
  • Track and report on costs, including labor and materials
  • Serve as the primary contact for project communication and stakeholder management
  • Manage the preparation of final as-builts and closeout documentation
  • Conduct safety orientations and training for site personnel
  • Attend all required safety trainings and meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in construction management or related occupation
  • Experience in construction layout, plan, and shop drawing readings
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience and construction management software programs
  • Valid Driver's license

Schedule

50 hours / week or based on project schedule needs. Opportunities to travel to additional project sites may be available.
