About the Role
As a key leader in our construction process, you will manage projects from the field, ensuring superior quality and adherence to safety standards. This role involves direct oversight of steel framing scopes, coordination with subcontractors, and collaboration with project managers, architects, and owner representatives.
Responsibilities
- Attend post-award review meetings to gather project details for preplanning prior to construction.
- Collaborate with the project manager to prepare construction schedules, organizational structures, staffing plans, and equipment requirements.
- Direct and control steel framing scopes to meet specifications, timelines, and profit expectations.
- Assist the project manager/engineer with material shipments, shop drawing approvals, and subcontractor coordination.
- Ensure subcontractors perform effectively and integrate their work with project schedules.
- Communicate construction schedule changes promptly to all supervisors and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to reflect actual expenses accurately.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other critical documents.
- Maintain open communication with owners and their representatives regarding construction progress.
- Foster cooperative relationships with architects and owner representatives while prioritizing company interests.
- Conduct jobsite meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
- Provide regular updates to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
- Maintain a daily diary to record significant project events, conditions, and interactions.
- Enforce the company’s safety program across all project phases and areas.
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction experience leading steel framing installations.
- Ground-up commercial or industrial construction experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling software.
- Possession of a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
- Willingness to travel across the country.
