About the role
The Assistant Project Manager reports to the Project Manager and is based in Detroit, Michigan. The position offers a pay range of $65,000 - $110,000, with benefits including health insurance, dental plan, long term disability, short term disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation/PTO, health savings account, and parental leave.
Responsibilities
- Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s, ensuring they are integrated into project documents.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers throughout the lifecycle of the project submittal process.
- Create, submit, and manage change orders, capturing the progress of work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite.
- Maintain oversight of the project schedule, providing regular updates to Project Operations and Field Operations leaders.
- Work closely with the Foreman to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite.
- Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds, and attic stock.
- Become familiar with project finances, working closely with Project Operations and Finance leader.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site, or a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or a certificate from a Construction Management program.
- Prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a project management capacity is a plus.
- An active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
